It rained very hard today during my nap, and there were flood warnings and tornado warnings posted. Today, Friday, we headed into Denver to visit the house of the famous “Unsinkable Molly Brown”. On the way we stopped at a Weight Watchers store to pick up some of those great Sweet and Salty bars.
We met Lenny and Iris at the Margret Brown house, she was never called “Molly” during her life. They had dropped Lauren and Corrine off at the Denver Ballet company. It was very interesting and insightful. After the tour it was time for lunch. We went downtown to the “Rock Bottom” restaurant. They have a micro-brewery and I tried six of their beers and found them all to be very good. The food was also very good as was the service.
We returned to camp for a couple of hours. That is when the rain came down in buckets. The rain stopped and we headed out to Boulder, Colorado. We arrived at the University Campus where Paul, Laura’s cousin is a professor. He was glad to see her and gave us a grand tour of the campus and history of Boulder.
By now it was time to eat again. We parked in a garage near Pearl Street in down town Boulder.
We ate at a very nice Italian Restaurant and we all had a very enjoyable dinner. We walked Pearl Street and enjoyed some ice cream and street entertainers. We really liked Mr. Zip Code.
By sunset, 8:30 PM, we headed back to camp and to call it a day.
