My Adventure Story
Our ride today started without a destination, so I decided that because we had ridden over the bridge several times that we would ride under it. The bridge goes over the new river and the river is 800 feet below the rode surface. Well, the adventure began at the first turn. The turn was an off camber right turn that would have required a right leg about 10 feet long to reach the ground, plus the water was running down the hill like Niagara falls. At the bottom of the hill there were stones about the size of soft balls. I should have turned around at that point and gotten out of there but alas it was a one way street and we were committed, or should have been committed. This was just the beginning it got much worse. the trip down consisted of 180 degree off camber turns. One wrong move and you were down, never to be seen again. Once we got to the bottom we had to cross a wood bridge and start our ascent. It was even worse than the trip down. We made it out. Did not take many pictures. Not sure I could have held the camera steady enough to get good pictures. If you ever make it to Beckley, take my advice, don't drive under the bridge.
