My Adventure Story
We took the 1150 and the R100GS up for three days of dirt, dust and log trucks. 646 miles total. Two nights camping at the lake. Back in time for beer and pizza.
From Victoria we took Hwy 1 to 14 to Port Renfrow, then took the loging road up from Port Renfrow, and the hardtac road back down. The paved road back down to Port Renfrow is great, lots of twisties. In fact, the entire island is GS paradise. The tourist maps sold on the ferry are wrong, don't rely on them for directions on the dual track logging roads.
Stayed at Nixon Creek, a primitive campsite., 22 Km up the dirt road out of Honeymoon Bay. Showers at the laundry mat in Lake Cowichan. Free wi-fi at the Coffee shop, and the last pub on way out of Honeymoon bay.
