The Palmetto Peloton Project (www.p3ride.org) holds an annual ride from Greenville, SC to Austin, TX in order to raise funds for cancer research. The team of 40 riders and their support crew ride relay-style in 6 hour legs across the country. Each rider raises at least $5,000 to participate, and each support crew member raises at least $2,500. All together the team will be donating right at $200,000 to the LiveStrong Foundation and the Greenville Hospital System Cancer Research Facility. The ride takes approximately 4-5 days to complete, and all of the support vehicles are adorned with the names of cancer survivors, victims, and warriors.
