My Adventure Story

It`s not usual that we got snow in october here in Norway, but the first snow landed the first week of october. (Normally we got snow in certain mouintain areas , earlier, but not this early in our "backyard") Not much...but still enough to get our skis out for the season.
One of us was too try his new Voile Split board, and the rest of us (two), was just ready for a new back-country season, with a lot of snow.

We left Trondheim, (where we live) around 08:00 in the morning, and watched all the people in the morning rush, ......and little did they know about our early season start.

Our goal was Oppdal. A small place, but still one of the best ski-destinations in Norway. We had spoken with the crew at Vertikal Playground (one of the best stores for ski, winter, and exstreme sporting goods in norway.) (They  are the Norwegian distributer of G3, and a lot of other high end brands. ) They told us to head for Storlidalen, about 30min drive from Oppdal. ...and 30minutes later, we found ous startingplace.

The sun was shining, it was about 4-5 degrees celsius below 0, and we more or less jumped out of the car. We were surrounded by a lot of peaks, and from the valley we looked up toward some of the places we wanted to check out.

....about 14,5km and 5-6 hours later, we walked down the last 50 meters to the car. We had just had our first taste of backcountry skiing, and found some good new lines we will test out later this season. The conditions was not perfect, but still we had som good skiing, a lot of sun, and some great faceplants......we found our "white october"
