November 13, 2009 Katahdin hike up Abol Trail and down Hunt Trail (AT).  The mountain is normally closed by this time but these two trail remained opened.  Actual hike was 11.0 miles but thick trees at the lower mountain limited the number of tracks received.  The weather was as good as it gets with temperature around 45F at the summit, no wind, no clouds, unreal visibility, and barely any snow.  There was one snowfield crossing of about 100ft.  I was the only one on the mountain which is very rare and that made it perhaps my best hike of the peak.
