My Adventure Story

This is the second of ten hikes the Cochise District of the Catalina Council of the Boy Scouts of America is conducting to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of BSA.
As this month the BSA turned 100 I would like to wish a Happy Birthday to all Scouts, Scouters and Professional Scouts!
Today's trail was led by Jim C. and 24 Boy Scouts and Scouters attended.  The route went from Carr Canyon to Miller Canyon on what is known as "The Perimeter Trail".  It started off sunny and in the low 50s (I love southern Arizona).  After winding along the lower elevations of the Huachuca Mountains (5000' Elevation) we turned up Miller canyon and in the next mile gained approximately 800' in elevation.  After crossing over the creek and road we began heading back towards Carr Canyon on the Clark Springs Trail and finally crossed the 6000' mark.  The clouds rolled in and wind began to pick up.  By the time we reached the Carr Canyon road, we began experiencing light sleet, and when we finally returned to the start point the weather had turned to a light rain.
