A adventurous descent on our mountain bikes from Roger's Trough trailhead to Hewitt Canyon road. About 12 miles. First three miles is really steep with loose gravel and borderline braking, but after that just awesome. Saw deer, birds, roadrunner, and one small snake. Also sidewinder tracks across road.
This trek takes two cars unless you want to climb up the mountain on your bikes.
Weather was perfect.
Only a couple of minor scrapes
Could start the descent lower at the junction of Woodbury and Rogers trough road junction.
Great day with good friends.
Back to Gold Canyon for a shower and happy hour.
