Awesome overnight backpacking hike with the Rickerts and Olsens. Parked along the Teanaway river road, no parks fee required and up a gated logging service trail. Didn't see anyone else the entire time, found a great meadow camp site next to a spur of the indian river. Lots of mosquitoes, ticks, firewood and undisturbed wilderness. Saw wild turkey's and elk on the way in. While filling would water bottles a elk came bounding down the bank and jumped the creek 10 feet from me and the bigs. When it saw us, it spun back across the creek and back up the bank. Good thing it did as I watched a cougar run by seconds later up on the ridge maybe 30 yards from us. Wow. Great overnight backpacking trip.
