My Adventure Story
My good friend Greg and I decided to go for a little stroll along the Military Ridge biking trail from Verona, Wi to Dodgeville,WI. We rode our cross bikes. I was armed with a Surly Cross-Check...Greg was armed with his Seven Mudhoney (a very sweet ride).
I started in Verona, and Greg (driving down from Reedburg in the AM - from another ride) hooked up with me at Mt Horeb, WI. We road the total distance of the trail to Dodgeville, WI up and down lots of grades from 3% to 6% along the trail.
Total distance for me was very close to 77 miles, averaging a little over 17 mph, total time of 4:34...
Temp wasn't too bad, but we unfortunately had a head wind coming all the way back east. The riding was pretty consistent, and we had no mechanicals or issues.
I highly recommend this trail, especially between Verona and Mt Horeb!
