My Adventure Story
Over two days, two of us paddled from Tobermory over to South Baymouth. We departed at approximately 10:30 am, had lunch on Cove Island, and then paddled over to Lucas Island, Yeo Island, and then camped on Fitzwilliam Island. We arrived at approximately 5:30 pm. The next day we departed at 8:10 am and arrived in South Baymouth at 12:52 pm, just as the Chi Cheemaun arrived. We then put the kayaks on 2 wheel carts and walked them onto the car deck on the ferry for the ride back to Tobermory. It was quite the paddling adventure where we paddled approximately 50 km over the 2 days. Some of the waves where 2 metres from crest to trough. Winds were from the south west. It felt like we were on a roller coaster ride for alot of it. Passing the headlands made for interesting paddling with some large waves breaking over you. Luckily it was warm out and the nice water temperatures. This is another section of Georgian Bay completed toward my goal of paddling around Georgian Bay. Paddled over half the shoreline this summer alone. Finish it next summer if not sooner.
