My Adventure Story

August 21st, we met at Key Aviation, north side of Anoka County airport.
The weather wasn't cooperating, but we met with Snoopy, the mascot for
Condor Airlines and supporter for LOG or Wings of Help foundation.
We had a group of friends, supporters and interested persons there to see us off.
Frank Franke was there from the Wings of Help, whom had planned to travel with us, but business back in Germany required his return for a press conference.
Finally the weather broke and Tom, Bruno and Dedlev boarded the plane, taxied out and headed North by North East.... destination to be Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We flew across Wisconsin and headed for the UP of Michigan. As we passed Gaastra Michigan, the clouds thickened but we continued on, as we got within 50 miles of Sault Ste. Marie the clouds lowered to fog and rain... We looked for an alternative route, circled out over Lake Michigan, and tried to follow the around and come in from the east over the water... but finally gave up and landed at St. Ignace... Good Choice.
We parked the airplane, the Airport manager gave us the Airport Car and directions to town, where we checked into a Hotel and headed to a restaruant for dinner.
