An easy relaxing kayak trip on Kissimmee's Shingle Creek...North section. We begin at Shingle Creek Regional Park's Steffie Landing. This is on the East side of the creek at Highway 192 and is open daylight hours. There are picnic tables, restroom facilities, canoe and kayak launch area at this park. On the west side of the creek is the new Steffie Homestead Historic site soon to be opened. We paddle north on this trip about a mile to the Shingle Creek Regional Park off of Babb Road. This is a very scenic and easy trip for any one of any ability. Bring your camera and binoculars for the wildlife. We have seen alligators, limpkins, ibis, great herons, great egrets, snowy egrets, ducks, and the list goes on. Week days are the quietest times but this canoe-kayak trail is presently under used so don't let the thought of crowds stop you from experiencing this hidden gem just minutes from Orlando and area theme parks.
