My Adventure Story

y friend Phil Walton and I
decided to head out on a overnight backcountry ski trip in Hatchers Pass,
Alaska. We had decided to try and
find the Snowbird hut that the American Alpine club has graciously built in the
summer of 2010. As a homegrown
Alaskan shredder, I have skied up in the area a couple times around the
Independence Mine area and in the right conditions the area can be simply
amazing. However we had yet to
make it to the Snowbird Glacier and we both knew it was going to be adventure
just to find the thing.
