On the morning of 4/18/2011, we met at the home of Lupe and Fred in Fallbrook, California and car pooled to the trail head.  Although the weather was overcast and drizzly, it could not dampen the spirits of this Palm Desert Hiking group.  It was the perfect season to view spectacular wild flowers and plenty of water in the river.  The route was 3.8 miles with 466 feet of elevation gain.  At the end of the hike we gathered for an afternoon BBQ of:  chips, salsa, and guacamole; chicken quesadillas; smoked tritip sandwiches; grilled vegies; asian salad; Sid's famous beans; Sangria, and for dessert grilled bananas with carmel bourbon sauce.  Bon Appetite!
