My Adventure Story
Went for a day trip to Woomera from our camp at Port Augusta. The drive wasn't too exciting, but didn't expect to see water in lakes. Island Lagoon was quite impressive with its large red towering island.
Woomera was very interesting with the history of rocketry there. Pity that it seems to be underutilised now.
Also saw the final resting place of Len Beadell, the surveyor of the rocket range and the person who led the team who built the outback "highways" such as the Gunbarrel HIghway.
