My Adventure Story
We left Ft Lauderdale, FL in June heading for Homer Alaska.
www.captainpete48.com The trip was 7200 nm and took about 3 months at 6.5 knots. The single engine trawler was 28 years old and had not been used in many years. Our first stop was in the Bahamas, then Jamaica, Panama Canal, Costa Rico, Mexico, California, Oregon, Washington State, Victoria British Columbia, Inside Passage to Alaska, Glacier Bay, Gulf of Alaska, Homer, Alaska. We had many exciting and interesting experiences on this trip. We had to be towed once by the Mexican Navy. We experienced some heavy weather but this steel hull heavy vessel handled the waves very well. It had stabilizers which really helped. We stopped in San Francisco, redwood forest, thoroughly enjoyed British Columbia and Alaska. For more photos and trips visit
