My Adventure Story
Today we departed Guadalajara at 08:30 but the traffic getting out of the city was heavy. Started the day right by getting stopped by a Guadalajara motorcycle officer for making an illegal left turn, which we did. The problem being that instead of turning left at a major intersection you must go past the intersection and then keep making right turns until get get headed in the direction you wanted to go. Not much English but he seemed like a friendly guy so I showed him my USSS ID. He responded by giving me a bear hug and sending us on our way.
The plan now is to avoid Mexico City as the guy who was going to lead us there couldn't do it. So we headed south to Toluca. Made reservations the night before at the Best Western Toluca, via internet. l plugged the address in to the Garmin. However, there were four or five of the same addressed listed. all within about two miles of each other. We ended up in a little village and of course there was no Best Western. We stopped along side a row of shops and a guy came out to help us. No English but pictures and writing 'Best Western". He pointed us in the right direction and we found the place. Not a bad place but the Wi-Fi didn't work so I couldn't blog or update SPOT until today.
We got to Toluca at 16:15 after a 298 mile day. Nothing much to report, just a lot of farmland and then industry going in to Toluca.
