My Adventure Story
Our 2011 Thanksgiving week cruise on Bliss.
after sailing out the bay and down the gulf to Longboat pass we spent two nights at Longboat. We had a front come through Wednesday afternoon with a brief period of rain followed by 20 knots of wind out of the N-NE Wednesday night. we set a second anchor like seasoned cruisers and slept well.
Thursday we motor sailed up the ICW to Emerson Point on the Manattee River. Kathryn had cooked a full Thanksgiving feast ahead of time and we enjoyed our turkey dinner and rum drinks with a beautifull sunset.
Friday we motored up the river to Regatta Point marina for hot showers and to take on water and empty the holding tank. we've discovered that three days is about the limit to be away from a dock on Bliss. On Saturday we raced Blis in the Turkey Run Regatta on the river, and thanks to the boat in front of us getting lost, we took second!
Sunday we had a beautifull sail back up the bay to Bliss's home at the Harborage marina.
