My Adventure Story
A day of spectacular scenery as we came down Ruta 40 but my what wind.
We departed at 08:00 this morning leaving Sara behind to hike in Patagonia with her sister Izzy who arrives tonight from Fargo.
The road surface was great but there were long distances between little towns so there is always a question of gas. So, I filled all three Roto-Paz, but we didn't need them today.
Got here at 15:45 and got gas. Everyone says "fill up whenever' you find a gas station that's open. Stopping is Esquel for gas and lunch there was a line of five cars ahead of us waiting for gas. Reminded me of the '70s in the U.S.
The Motel Roca is what I'd call a "hunting camp" motel. OK for one night and with the guys but Sara wouldn't have been happy here.
Saw five Beemers over the course of the day heading north. Sitting here doing the blog a guy on a Beemer (R1200GS) pulled in. He is from Denver, Pat Colleran, and is riding a rental bike out of Santiago. He rode to Ushuaia from Santiago and is now heading back to Santiago. He's been on the road a month. Small world. We'll have dinner together tonight and compare notes.
Ushuaia here we come!
