My Adventure Story
They served breakfast starting at 06:30 at the Bahia Motel so we were able to be on the road at 07:30, again trying to get some miles in before the winds pick up.
A lot of nothing between the two cities. Saw some more ostrich and a bunch of guanacoso but when we'd slow to take a picture they take off.
Truly in the middle of nowhere we came up a neat restaurant. The cleanest place we've seen in South America. Turns out its run by a couple of Austrian guys. Had a brewed coffee, something you don't see down here, and some apple strudel to die for.
After 225 miles we arrived in Rio Gallegos at 12:30 and found a room at the Hotel Nevada. Probably a two star giving them the benefit of a doubt. The kind of place guys would stay in but not if traveling with a wife.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, the real Adventure begins. We ferry across the Straits of Magellan, cross two borders, ride 80 miles of gravel fighting the wind and hopefully find a place to stay in San Sebastian or Rio Grande. Hopefully the weather prediction for rain will be wrong.
