We flew on Christmas day and unlike 2010 it was a beautiful day to fly.  We flew down to KIZA, Santa Ynez and decided since there was no one else about, that we would play on their dirt runway which is for Ultralights.

Scott and I walked the runway first and deemed it acceptable to take off and land and both the Champ and NotSo got to play in the dirt.  Unfortunately I did not figure out how to get very good photos of Scott and NotSo with the little camera.

It was a great way to get re-acclimated to landing "off field" in a controlled environment.  Although we both have quite a bit of time on dirt, it has been quite a number of years.

We have plans to do more back country and off airport landings, so this was a great way to get started!
