My Adventure Story
It was a beautiful weekend to hike one more time before I start my A.T.thru hike and test out spot. I tested the help button, a reminder to send my food boxes. You will notice a gap in the red line of our hike because I did not re-engage the foot step button. Thankfully I am learning all of this now. My friend & hiking buddy, Wendy, was with me on this 23 mile hike. We started at Lock 12, close to the Norman Wood Bridge over the Susquhanna River. Our first day was about 15 miles to Shenks Ferry Road, then onto the Eisenhooth cabin for the night. The first day we saw 3 snakes, and several bald eagles. Also Sasha, Rocky, Luke & Becky, who located us using the s.p.o.t. coordinates., wonderful surprise! Second day, we started slower, exploring Apollo Park before continuing on the Mason Dixon Trail. Our nine miles this day was a challenge, rock climbing, and many ups & downs thru ravines in the river hills. It took us longer then expected, we ended very tired but safe and sound. Saw several more eagles this day and deer during our car shuttle at dusk. I hope that you enjoy this spot adventure site. I plan to use it to blog and up load photos of my A.T. hike, when I have access to the internet. Alice
