My Adventure Story
A hike up Mt Dorr in early spring. Didn't meet another soul all day.
The length indicated by Spot Adventures is deceiving. I think this was more like 5 to 6 miles. Doesn't sound much but it's enough for me over this terrain.
I started from the Sieur De Monts car park along the Jesup Trail, Kane Trail (Tarn Trail), Ladder Trail, South Ridge Trail, Tarn Trail, Kurt Deidrich's Trail and finally the historic Homan Trail which took me back to the car park.
This was a strenous hike with some rapid inclines. These were usually steps or ladders but that doesn't make them any easier on the legs or lungs!
My hiking in Acadia gets more enjoyable. The scenery is breathtaking and the beauty of the forests and trails is unlike anything I have walked before. All I could hear was the wind in the trees. This truly is a magical place. If elves, trolls or hobbits were to live anywhere it would be here!
