United States Nevada Las Vegas

Today we left Las Vegas to go to Zion National Park. We saw beautiful scenery and spectacular scenery.
Zion National Park was busy enough that we had to make a parking space in the overflow parking lot to get the passport stamp. It was crowded! We wanted to ride the scenic road but were unable to as it is only open to the park shuttles this time of year. So we rode through the park and saw spectacular beauty.
Some of the rock formations look like they were poured into place when the rock was liquid. Others are very colorful. Still others are just interesting because of the shapes or faces you can see in them. We had to wait for oncoming traffic to clear one of the tunnels and as we waited we saw someone rappel down the face of one of the cliffs.
The bike did not overheat, we did not run out of fuel and the temperatures were moderate. We are staying in Mt. Carmel Junction for the next few days. This will be a jumping off point for Bryce Canyon National Park and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
